NEW Soap Kitchen & Cool Room
For the past 25 years we’ve been making soap during the cooler months only.
Traditionally our soap making stops during the “wet” season since soap does not like high humidity, due to the excess fats/oils oxidising in the humidity.
This is why we have previously run our soap stocks down after Christmas and resume soap making around March with lovely fresh batches...
....every year until now!
With thanks to your support, we are finally able to build a soap storage cool room, and install air conditioning in the soap kitchen. This means we can ramp up production and make soap ALL YEAR ROUND…
This is such exciting news for Hidden Valley. It means we don't have to worry about our soap stocks oxidising and losing colour and aroma, and it means they cure faster so that they can be in your hands (& bathrooms) quicker!
We've already made all 22 soaps, and have stocks ramping up for the dry season orders. As well as the full block soaps, we also make half blocks as well as these heart shaped soaps you see Kat holding above.
Upgrading our warehouse like this is so paramount to the continued success of our humble family-run company. We rely on our lovely, loyal customers and we want to be able to give them the best quality products. Our soaps are treasured in many households across Australia and we love knowing that the soaps will now remain fresh and luxurious before their despatch.
Kat & Smokey also now have a break from the tiring humidity of the wet season with glass windows having just been installed in the soap kitchen. This is almost the last piece of the puzzle, signifying the completion of the project.
The white back panelling you see in the photos was installed earlier this year, and acts as large fridge panels - keeping the space cool once we install an aircon in very soon.
The space looks incredibly fresh and new and we love working away in it. The soap kitchen leads directly into the new cool room which means that transporting and holding soaps has instantly become a lot easier.

Have been buying the ‘Blossom’ soap for 15 years for our own personal use. We don’t use anything else . When we travel we always ensure our soap is packed . The lovely fragrance of rose , bergamot and patchouli lasts on your skin all day! We are locals so keep the soaps in the beer fridge throughout the humid months of the wet season . Also use the ‘welcome home’ oil in our burners for a lovely fragrance in the house ! We are so lucky to have ‘Hidden Valley ‘ just down the road !
This really does look amazing, we can appreciate what you have after showing us through last season. Well done guys, you have certainly worked hard to make all of this happen.
