Skin Care

A topical herbal cream designed to help ease muscular, arthritic, joint and connective tissue pain and injury, such as tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, bruises, sprains, pulled muscles. Contains lots of arnica, with comfrey and hypericum (St John's Wort) as infused oils and/or herbal extracts, as well as anti-inflammatory essential oils. 

Best not to use if you are pregnant, and do not use on broken skin. We have had wonderful feedback on this cream and the equivalent lotion.

Apply frequently and lovingly, at least twice daily.

Contains: purified water, arnica, hypericum & comfrey infused oils, comfrey & hypericum extracts, beeswax & emulsifying wax NF, witch hazel, glycerine, vitamin E, maize starch thickener, pure essential oils of kunzea, sweet marjoram, fragonia, lemongrass, ginger, juniper, peppermint & wintergreen, natural almond and vanilla derived preservative.

Spray onto a tissue or makeup pad and tuck this into the collar or pocket (or spray around the head, but be sensitive to other people who may find this invasive, so seek permission first). Avoid spraying in eyes.

Long term use of cheap shampoos leads to dry, scaly, itchy scalp and dry lustreless hair. Revitalise the hair & scalp with this treatment which is also helpful for eczema and psoriasis sufferers.

We infused Australian macadamia oil with skin soothing herbs such as calendula, chamomile, chickweed, elderflower, burdock, mallow and yarrow, then added some other lovely oils, lots of Vitamin E, and pure essential oils.

Apply a tablespoon or two, depending on hair length, to scalp, massage well and comb through hair. Leave on as long as possible (plan this for a day at home). If leaving on overnight, put a shower cap on to protect sheets. In cold weather, wrap a warmed towel over the shower cap to facilitate penetration of the herbs and oils. Shampoo off and condition as usual.

Ingredients: Cold pressed macadamia oil infused with chamomile, calendula, chickweed, nettle, elderflower, burdock, mallow and yarrow,  jojoba, borage seed, organic camellia, sesame and castor oils, Vitamin E mixed tocopherols, pure essential oils of lavender, rosemary, ylang ylang, geranium and carrot seed.

Think of Healing Cream as an all purpose safe first aid cream for most skin problems - a herbal antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and healing cream for topical application to sores, bites, burns, stings, rashes, boils, cracked skin, eczema etc. Many people with eczema have found it useful as a harmless maintenance cream to keep skin moist and eczema at bay, reserving their use of cortisone creams for times when the eczema is really nasty.

It is also a restorative heavy duty hand cream for people who work with their hands (use at night as the cream is heavy, almost like an ointment). For instance, around Broome workers cleaning pearlshell need something effective to use on nicks and scratches and the effects of salt water.

Safe for children if used topically, not all over. Remember the cream contains just over 3 per cent pure essential oils. Ali & Smokey's 11 year old son used to have his own little 30 ml pot, ideal for scraped knees and other minor accidents.

The little 30 ml pot is a great one to take travelling as it's useful for such a wide variety of skin ailments.

This cream is to put on after you have been bitten, as subsequent swelling, itching and infection following bites is the main problem. The cream helps to soothe, reduce the itch, disinfect and help bites with natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. Works also on bee stings and even, so we are told, on Scottish midgies!

A completely natural herbal spray designed to deter insects. It contains no DEET but has 3 active ingredient types - a local plant extract used traditionally to deter insects, neem oil (a natural insecticide) and proven insect deterring essential oils. It works perfectly well if used properly - it needs to be applied to all exposed skin and re-applied every 2 - 3 hours.

Use sparingly on children under 3 years as this spray contains 3% essential oils.  Some customers have told us anecdotally that Pestoff works if diluted again by half, so we suggest trying this on young children. As for all skin care products, patch test on the inner wrist first. Always cover up physically (eg. with muslin over a pram) if you can. Another idea is to use a thick layer of coconut oil (or a mineral oil which stays on the surface) on exposed skin so insects can't get a purchase on skin.

Our radical solution to combat the plague proportions of mozzies which can make life difficult in the Kimberley from February to May, at the end of the Wet and, of course, for similar conditions throughout Australia at various times. We wanted a large quantity natural but effective Pestoff trigger spray which can be kept at the front door and easily applied all over whenever gardening, building and other outdoor activities are sabotaged by clouds of mozzies. So here it is:

An all-natural herbal, neem and essential oil spray concentrate to discourage bites, in tropical strength. And feedback is unanimous that it works! The critters buzz around, but won't land on sprayed skin. We made a concentrate in a 100ml glass bottle which can easily be sent by mail order. You don't pay the freight for water. This concentrate makes up 500ml of spray. You can either purchase the empty good quality trigger spray bottle from us or buy your own from a hardware or gardening store.

Simply pour the 100ml concentrate into your 500ml bottle, top up with water, shake well and use. If your bottle holds less, use 1 part concentrate to every 4 parts water (eg. 20ml or 1 tablespoon concentrate plus 80ml water for a 100ml bottle).

Back by public demand after we stopped making this very complex and messy-to-make product! It requires ALL our pots and the zinc is immensely difficult to clean off! 

An all natural non-irritating tinted lotion designed to give physical protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays as well as general environmental damage from harsh Australian conditions. Use it as a sunscreen for prolonged sun exposure. Safe for babies. Not completely waterproof - reapply after swimming. The main active ingredient is zinc oxide at 8 per cent - this is not micronized, so it cannot cross the skin barrier and neither does it give a ghosting effect, but it may feel slightly chalky on. The green and black tea with the white zinc oxide in Skinsmart give the product a beige colour - it can double as a natural foundation. To date we have never encountered anyone sensitive to this product, including very young children. It is the best we can do to provide a completely natural, non chemical sunscreen. Great for all over protection but you might want to add the old fashioned thick zinc cream on your nose if you are in the sun all day.

Apply liberally every 2 hours and after swimming (not waterproof)

Use 5-8 drops in a diffuser or in the bath, or in 20ml massage oil for tummy and lower back, or in a hot compress.

A benign, soothing and moisturising all natural organic herbal balm to help dry, thinning vaginal (yoni) skin and atrophy. Ideal for succulent women of wisdom. We have taken organic virgin olive oil and infused organic herbs wild yam, agnus castus (vitex or chastetree),  calendula and comfrey into this for a minimum of 6 weeks. We then thickened the oil a little with organic beeswax, and added an anti-oxidant natural Vitamin E. That's all - safe and soothing.

Apply, with love, at night before bed or after showering. Safe for intercourse too.
